Sinopse:
O jovem Hugo Llor se esforça para vencer na vida na Barcelona do século XIV e faz de tudo para cumprir a promessa que fez à família Estanyol.
1 - Fate
Arnau and Mar worry about their safety should a new king take the throne. A tragedy separates Hugo from his family, and he takes on an apprenticeship.
2 - Penance
Bernat receives distressing news and returns, vowing vengeance. Arnaus friends help provide Hugo with a home, where a young woman catches his eye.
3 - Retaliation
Hugo is advised to forget his feelings for Dolça and seeks out his family. Meanwhile, horrors abound as Jews are persecuted across the kingdom.
4 - Wound
Roger Puig asks that Hugo work in his palace cellar, which provides the winemaker with a unique — and dangerous — opportunity for vengeance.
5 - Slave
With Hugo in custody, Regina begs for his release. However, her love for him is a double-edged sword and comes with its own set of consequences.
6 - Beatriz
Bernat fulfills his promises to Hugo. Caterina expresses her feelings. Barchas earnest action has devastating repercussions for Mercè and her family.
7 - Poison
Caterina urges Hugo not to lose hope as he desperately searches for Mercè. When Bernat learns the truth about his wife, the church forces his hand.
8 - Redemption
Guerao asks Hugo and Caterina to help him save Arnau, whom he suspects is being poisoned by Marta. Mercè reaches out to her birth mother.
